OnWire Announces New Application Security Division and Plans to Expand to Austin, Texas

OnWire announces a new Application Security business unit to provide security solutions that leverage IBM’s Application Security technology, a 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader. In addition, OnWire plans to expand coverage to the mid-west region with a new office location in Austin, Texas.

“I am both honored and thrilled IBM Application Security will be the foundation of OnWire’s New Application Security Division. Together, IBM’s Application Security technology coupled with OnWire’s industry leading experience and innovation will provide great value to Customers in securing their applications.” – Michele M. Sullivan, Global Application Security Segment Leader.

OnWire will utilize the IBM Application Security on Cloud and AppScan products to offer dynamic and static code analysis for customers to scan their applications and perform comprehensive and automated testing before they are placed in production and deployed. Additional capabilities include Mobile Analyzer and Open-Source Code Analyzer, which can help organizations gain control and visibility over open source risk by continuously identifying vulnerable open source components in your software.

“The major forces driving the application security market are the rise in security breaches targeting business applications, stronger application security regulations and compliance requirements,” says John Pontious, OnWire VP of Technology based in Austin, TX. “OnWire’s new Application Security Business unit will provide solutions to help safeguard customer applications from these breaches.”

According to recent industry reports, the application security market size is estimated to grow from USD 2.24 Billion in 2016 to USD 6.77 Billion by 2021, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 24.8% from 2016 to 2021.
