OnWire is FedRAMP Ready with OnCloud Identity and Access Management for Government

OnWire Consulting Group (OnWire) announces OnCloud Identity and Access Management is now FedRAMP Ready and available for review by Government customers in the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) repository. OnCloud has completed formal assessment and testing by Dakota Consulting, an accredited, Third-Party Assessment Organization (3PAO). OnCloud is currently deployed in IBM SoftLayer and conducting on-going continuous monitoring in accordance with FedRAMP requirements.

OnCloud features user management capabilities that include policy-based provisioning, workflow, reporting, auditing, recertification, and self-service. OnCloud authentication and authorization services include single-sign-on, federation, and strong authentication. OnCloud is available as an Identity Provider (IDP), Service Provider (SP), Broker, or Proxy on behalf of customers and uniquely pre-configured to meet Government IAM requirements and use cases.

“We are proud to be the first small business with a cloud system approved for FedRAMP Ready,” says Chonly Wang, OnWire President/CEO. “Federal customers can now initiate an authorization using our security package, which has FedRAMP security controls already implemented and tested. We’ve addressed some of the toughest security controls to implement – such as FIPS compliance and NIST LOA 4 authentication. This provides potential agencies a more rapid path towards FedRAMP compliance.”

OnCloud’s SaaS security boundary is portable and designed to be hosted in any virtualized, cloud-computing environment. OnCloud is infrastructure agnostic and can be deployed in a customer’s infrastructure of choice. Deployment models include private, public, and hybrid clouds.

FedRAMP, the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, is a U.S. government-wide program that standardizes the approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. “FedRAMP has a track record of working with small businesses and is excited to continue this work through the FedRAMP Ready category,” says Matthew Goodrich, Acting FedRAMP Director. “As a small business, OnWire has demonstrated their commitment to working with the Federal government and meeting the FedRAMP requirements. OnWire’s offering, OnCloud, has all of the required FedRAMP documents available for agencies to initiate the assessment and authorization process. This will allow potential agency customers the ability to quickly authorize OnCloud for use within their infrastructure of choice.”

About FedRAMP Ready

In order to be considered FedRAMP Ready, systems must initiate a review of their documentation with the FedRAMP PMO. At a minimum, systems must go through the FedRAMP PMO Readiness Review. Systems in this category cover a range of documentation and FedRAMP accredited 3PAO assessment results. Any system that includes assessment results within their documentation must use an accredited 3PAO. FedRAMP Ready systems allow potential agency customers and authorizing officials a starting point to initiate an authorization.
